Our Story – Now and Then

Meagan Van Woert
Meagan Van Woert - Founder of Paint and Sip VT

Who are we?

Welcome, my name is Meagan Van Woert.  I am the owner of Paint and Sip VT. Based in Fairfield, VT, my story begins as a motivated entrepreneur who loves art and practicing creativity. This business allows me to empower team members to ‘dare to fail’, being brave and try something new through art.

I believe once you find a trait in life that moves even one person, it is important to share that opportunity with others.

The underlying benefits of my ‘painting classes’ empower team members to practice creative thinking, empowerment, daring to fail, humility, relating to others, patience, and increased confidence.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a creative team-building experience that leaves our participants with a renewed sense of growth, confidence, optimism, and empowerment.

2017 - The beginning

July 14th, 2017 – a group of friends came over to paint. The event was the first time we had ever painted together. I had never led a group of friends through a fun art class, but this was an idea we had to come together, create and see one another.

Over 2 hours – the magic happened. We had great conversations, learned a lot about one another, and my friends felt empowered ‘ wow, I did a great job with my painting. ‘ One friend chimed in, ‘ Meagan, you should do more of this. ‘ Each of my friends – 2 of them pregnant – felt refreshed, relaxed, and empowered from the class.

Weeks after this fun event, I started the business and built my brand.

March 20th, 2020 - My first 'fuzzy' trial virtual class with friends

2020 - Covid-19 begins

We were all working in mid-March when our employers told us to go home, where we may need to stay for a couple of weeks. A familiar story that you may relate to today.

At this time, my business was a side hustle. My son was six months old, and my husband and I were working from home in our full-time jobs ( in the Products and Tech space ). My world of in-person paint classes opened up a new opportunity to teach virtual classes.

March 20th, 2022 – my dedicated group of friends decided to test my idea of a virtual paint class. I tried a slide deck and scripts – it was pretty hilarious. As an entrepreneur, I tested many ideas, and my friends provided feedback. The flow and experience they had in my classes worked, just like the in-person experience.

It was that moment in the pandemic, where my business ramped up organically doing more virtual classes and far fewer in-person classes.  By the end of 2020 – I was doing 100% virtual classes online.  Participants had a great outlet in my classes to connect with one another, which helped relieve a lot of stress and anxiety with the transition to virtual interactions.

2022 - 2025 The Evolution

Our business grew tremendously and transitioned into nearly all virtual paint classes for groups of all sizes.  I was managing the marketing, digital, shipping and operations of the business – from my personal studio.

We have mailed 1000’s of paint kits all over the country and internationally and hosted 100’s of paint classes.  Over 50+ reviews on Google.  We are blessed by all the wonderful people we have met and partnerships we have formed.

How did our business become so successful?  It is all about the participants experience.  The quality of products and service we provide is relatable and appreciated by team’s leaders and planners.

We make the process easy to plan and execute.   We feel grateful to be in this space to give participants an opportunity to UNPLUG and enjoy a different type of creative event.

In this period, we also hired other instructors to support our events.  As of 2026, Meagan is the primary instructor for our clients to get the best experience possible!

2026 and our future!

We have learned so much about the needs of employees, small and big companies.  Specifically around engaging and bringing a team together – outside of ‘work.’   It is all about your people and their experience.

In the future, we will continue to offer virtual and in person paint and sip classes.  We absolutely love working with teams that are remote and in person.  Our hybrid approach for team building events all over the country has been a lot of fun.  We are so grateful for our continued partnerships with Microsoft, Salesforce, Facebook and beyond.  Also Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont.

If you are interested in working with us, it would be a pleasure to partner with you. Please contact us today to check our availability!
