How did you start the business?
I started my business in 2017. I was spending quality time with friends and we had a blast painting artwork at my kitchen table. Two of my friends were pregnant at the time and it was a great activity that wasn’t stressful and actually made them feel really good. A light bulb went off for many of us that night. We had so much fun, no stress, plenty of food and beverages – why not offer this experience to more people… and Paint and Sip VT was born.
Between 2017 – 2019, I built the business doing in-person parties for friends, family, and businesses. I would travel within the state and some of my biggest parties were with campgrounds. This was just before covid hit and started to impact our lives.
March 2019 – Covid impacted my business – in a very good way. I started to offer virtual classes and the ball started rolling. I was – and still am – incredibly invested in keeping people connected. My means are through art, entertainment, and a little bit of laughter.
Why do you enjoy teaching?
Life can be complicated. People work hard and sometimes people don’t get an easy break. When participants have an opportunity to participate in my classes.
What do you love about art?
Endless possibilities to be creative. So many materials, mediums, and all the inspiration that comes with it.
What do you enjoy painting?
Landscapes, flowers, abstract, sunset, night skies – so many things! I can lead a group through any inspiration. I enjoy teaching different tips and techniques. Using complementary colors and blending all types of scenes, etc.
