Here are a few popular ideas:
Paint Supplies
Check out our recommendations on what to buy that is affordable.
Here is a basic list of supplies you need for the party:
- Paints – Acrylic or Tempura- 1 oz. per person works perfect
- Brushes – 3-5 brushes for person at minimum A range of sizes is important for the paint party for large coverages areas to small painting details.
- Canvas Panels or Stretch Canvas – I prefer the panels because they are less likely to damage. Any size works, our paint kits include 11″ x 14″.
- Plastic Table Cloths to protect your tables from splatter and other minor party messes at home.
- Cups of water for each participant. Any plastic party cup works – fill them 3/4 of the way.
- Paper Towels are important to dry brushes and help with any messes. I usually distribute a single sheet when I setup the painting party.
- Plates – plastic or paper to mix paint colors. Finding something you can dispose will save you a lot of clean up.
Virtual or In Person Paint Party
Check out our recommendations on what to buy that is affordable.
Virtual Paint Classes – Pro’s and Con’s:
Pro’s / Benefits
- No matter the person’s location or weather – they can join for the event
- No party prep. The hours you spend cleaning your house and preparing food – you can kick up your feet and relax. Everyone will join the party online!
- It helps to not spread germs and expose Covid concerns
- You can invite an unlimited amount of people!
Con’s / Disadvantages
- In Person Bonding – Many extroverts really miss seeing their friends in person. Some may prefer that, which is a downside to a virtual class
- For events, sometimes people look forward to leaving their house if they are home all the time. Some compare this to connivence and others as an unnecessary outing. Everyone is different.
If you buy DIY Paint Kits from us, we will setup a virtual zoom link for you to share with your friends and answer any questions you have! Easy peasy.
In-Person Paint Classes – Pro’s and Con’s
Pro’s / Benefits
- You get to see & hug your friends in person. The laughter, maybe the ugly Christmas sweater all the things
- Maybe you miss having people at your house and you want to host! This is a benefit if you want to bring people together in person.
Con’s / Disadvantages
- Sometimes finding enough seats and chairs can be challenge. That is why it is important to manage your guest list first, so you have enough room for everyone.
- You have to likely clean your house, make food in advance and put on a pair of jeans!
Either option is a good one, you just need to figure out what is best for your group! If you have questions about the logistics, please let us know. We are on standby to help. Feel free to use the chat window or contact us directly.
